Apple’s Redesign of the iPod nano is a Mistake

Today, September 1, 2010, Apple announced a redesign of their very popular iPod nano. This is the iPod that people buy if they’re not going to jump for an iPod touch. Don’t even mention the iPod shuffle–it’s pointless.

For this market, it makes no sense to replace physical buttons with a touch screen just because it’s sexy. The iPod nano is the product from Apple that customers use when they’re out running, working out, etc. It needs to be able to be operated with physical buttons. I’m not knocking the touch screen as a technology, it has its places, but the iPod nano is not one of them.

DreamHost Hosting Steal

Many people have differing views over the web hosting company, DreamHost. I signed up with them for the standard hosting, which I got for an insanely low price, almost too good to be true.

On July 3, they had an amazing deal. They offered an entire year of hosting for just $9.24 USD. Seeing that I didn’t have any hosting, I decided to sign up. I was going to sign up with them without the deal, but was delightfully surprised. No information on the stability of their platform, as I am still setting things up. They’re a name brand company, so I should be good to go.

Tech Monkey Has Another New Feed

I’ve changed the feed for Tech Monkey numerous times, but I’ve finally come to a conclusion that I will hand-code the feed in a text editor. The hopefully last feed can be found at http://techmonkeypodcast.com/podcasts/techmonkey/techmonkey-mp3.xml. If you’re not already listening, I suggest you check Tech Monkey out. We frequently have Joey Leweck, Brandon Anderson, and occasionally Nicholas Montgomery.

I’ll order hosting soon, but for now, I’m just running on tumblr.
